Second Runner Up Comment of the Day -- The Loss of Empathy

*****************************************************

When I saw the headline for this article, the first thing that came to my mind was the bullying behavior from the media and other liberals if you dare to disagree with them. No wonder kids think it's appropriate to ridicule and humiliate their opponents - that's what they've seen lefty politicians and media folks do for years.
Of course, the best way to deal with a bully is to show that you couldn't care less about the bully's opinion, and more and more people are doing just that with the political bullies.

A New Law in California Gives Vast Rights to Parents and Kids at Failing Schools *** Update Added

Sounds too good to be true. I am no longer even surprised that the Democratic Party run ‘news’ media has ignored this breakthrough. (Still disgusted but no longer surprised.)

UPDATE This has been the law in California since January as is reported here. And here is a story in the LAT from 12-7-09 from before passage of the bill. But I had not heard about this until today thus I reported an almost year old law as new. I have just done a little more research since I was a little insecure writing about something that seems so big that I only had from one source. Also, here is a story about an attempt to make this a law in Connecticut.

Gov. Chris Christie on the Today Show

'Governor Wrecking Ball' read the screen below Gov. Christie. NBC does not need to ask why viewers no longer trust them. The real question is why would any sane, intelligent viewer trust Matt Lauer?

Comment of the Day

Sorry guys, but public schools are important, they must not be shut down. They are and have been an integral part of our society since the beginning of our nation…and it is even more important the last couple of decades that these schools not only exist, but students mandated to attend.
Who else is going to clean the houses of Charter School graduates, wash their cars, mow their lawns, scrub their toilets?
Government educated students are needed to fulfill the most basic entry level jobs…or become professors…

Comments of the Day

These are all from a thread at Hot Air about how the establishment in academia feels threatened by Glenn Beck. How dare someone lacking a PHd talk about history?

FIRST
As I have hammered upon… This is the key to the future. In the ancient ’70s I often crossed verbal swords with a Stalinist “student” we called Eric the Red (because his name was Eric, he had long red hair, and he was a Communist – we were very clever back then.)

Although I suspected he was a sociopath to some degree, he seemed to enjoy our conversations – and when he was backed into a logical corner would always smile and put forth the same rejoinder:

“It is mute. In 20 years we will control the universities. We will, therefore, control the little jelly minds of those going into the press, entertainment, politics and schools. We win.”

Until the universities are returned to a more neutral status, there will be new legions of little left-bots being turned out by the thousands.

NEXT
I dig Beck’s history lessons.

He said he has Ph.D on staff who helped research the horrors of communism, and she told him she was outraged she hadn’t learned any of the information when she was a student.

THIRD
We moderns have been lied to about “the Enlightenment.”

It was absolutely not a broadening of thinking, it was a sometimes violent constriction of the rules of acceptable thought. It was a purge of the legitimate achievements of the civilization that came before it.

Real intellectuals today are sifting through the ruins of pre-enlightenment thought and resourcing what is good. The frauds — i.e., most of academia — are obsessed with passing along the crap that was forced down their throats by very bad men.

As to the Enlightenment, it’s no accident that the mystics construed the source of evil in the world as Lucifer, whose english translation from the latin is basically “enlightener”, or light bringer.

Beware Lucifer.

Washington, DC Schools and Teacher Education from the Daily Caller

"The black kid getting the vapors during his mid-term is not battling Denise Graves or John McWhorter or Bill Cosby. He’s battling “Fuck Tha Police.” He’s fighting Jeremiah Wright. He’s trying to defy the resentful liberal culture that tells him its better to fail and blame society than succeed on society’s terms. Indeed, the popular culture celebrates the rebel stance."
This is from a Daily Caller post by a student in a teacher education course near DC. The writer is describes as, "Augustine Brehon is a name assumed to protect the author, who is currently receiving his education certification near Washington, D.C."
Take a look at it. It has some interesting comments about home schooling, teacher education and the DC school system.

UNBELIEVABLE: Safe School Czar Is An Advocate Of Fisting And Children Having Sex In School Bathrooms

Bathroom sex might feel normal to gays of certain generations. But it is abnormal. And it does not belong in schools.
By now it is less of a surprise that the MSM does not find this 'newsworthy.' They seem to end up covering whatever Sarah Palin mentions on her Facebook page. Maybe SP can bring this out of the shadows.

"My parents think we're nuts but they don't even bother me."

Homeschooling is better for kids and also builds an arsenal for democracy.

What's In A Word? How Did Self-righteous Academics Fight Before They Invented the Race Card?

The movie is The Human Stain. It deals with race, love and lust and hypocrisy. There is also some ice fishing. And Anthony Hopkins and Gary Sinise together do a Fred Astaire -- Ginger Rogers act.

At Last It Can Be Told: the US Wrecked Ecological Devastation on Viet Nam

We can tell it now that the educational establishment is going to great lengths to brainwash kids into being green as a substitute for actual morality and since text book buyers and sellers still hate America.
