Comments of the Day

These are all from a thread at Hot Air about how the establishment in academia feels threatened by Glenn Beck. How dare someone lacking a PHd talk about history?
FIRST
As I have hammered upon… This is the key to the future. In the ancient ’70s I often crossed verbal swords with a Stalinist “student” we called Eric the Red (because his name was Eric, he had long red hair, and he was a Communist – we were very clever back then.)
Although I suspected he was a sociopath to some degree, he seemed to enjoy our conversations – and when he was backed into a logical corner would always smile and put forth the same rejoinder:
“It is mute. In 20 years we will control the universities. We will, therefore, control the little jelly minds of those going into the press, entertainment, politics and schools. We win.”
Until the universities are returned to a more neutral status, there will be new legions of little left-bots being turned out by the thousands.

I dig Beck’s history lessons.
He said he has Ph.D on staff who helped research the horrors of communism, and she told him she was outraged she hadn’t learned any of the information when she was a student.

THIRD
We moderns have been lied to about “the Enlightenment.”
It was absolutely not a broadening of thinking, it was a sometimes violent constriction of the rules of acceptable thought. It was a purge of the legitimate achievements of the civilization that came before it.
Real intellectuals today are sifting through the ruins of pre-enlightenment thought and resourcing what is good. The frauds — i.e., most of academia — are obsessed with passing along the crap that was forced down their throats by very bad men.
As to the Enlightenment, it’s no accident that the mystics construed the source of evil in the world as Lucifer, whose english translation from the latin is basically “enlightener”, or light bringer.
Beware Lucifer.

Glenn Beck goes rounds with Bill O'Reilly over Marxism
This is a couple of weeks old but I did not see it until this morning. Since I found it entertaining, I thought I'd add it to the mix.

"How Is It Sedition to Disagree with the President, in America?"
There are two Americas: one that is comfortable with dissent and one that will slander and lie about anyone whose dissent makes them feel uncomfortable or threatens their hold on power.

OK, So Beck Is Not the Sanest Person on the Tube, but . . .
****************************************
I watch these lefties rant on with unending insults never once supported with any evidence. But nothing they say gives any indication that they have ever even watched Beck's show. It seems that Markos from Kos ranted about Beck, some guy named George in Queens read it and became incensed, when George gave Sally from LI her dry cleaning he repeated what he could remember and Sally became worried about the fate of Obama's legislative program which she shared with the woman in the middle of the screen when they met for lunch and shared their weeks. The lady from the screen is, I guess, a comedy writer and she said to herself, "I could probably turn this into a good three or four minutes." And here we end up with three ill informed people perseverating about something they don't know anything about.

Arianna Huffington Says Glenn Beck Should Be Excluded From Right to Free Speech
She's just another state run media Brown Shirt. If she really believes what she says she should spend a few bucks and get some lawyers on the case. But I suspect it's just another minor outbreak of me too Barry butt kissing.
It appears that Arianna and Keith do not even understand what was meant by, "Yelling fire in a crowded theater."
