kos Confused about Juan Williams/NPR

Maybe the daily kos is trying to reverse the trend of hysterical desperation that the frenzied left has been discharging nonstop into the public discourse. Maybe in an attempt to scare off fewer voters they are attempting a less strident tone. Because they went easy on Sarah Palin today. They damned her with faint abuse when they modulated their slander to the mild epithet, “the inconsequential dropout former governor of Alaska.” Without knowing their history on this you wouldn’t know if, instead of hating her, they don’t just feel that she is beneath their notice.
Juan Williams was dealt with in the same tone of mild disgust. In a statement that mangles the facts they send Juan off stage with the other nonentities: “Juan Williams was fired for making bigoted comments, but the real statement about the state of our traditional media is that such a mediocrity had a job as a pundit to begin with.”
Off the front page one of kos’s diarists does an analysis of the NPR FU. This confused leftie wants to make the discussion about how wrong William’s friends are to classify this as a First Amendment issue. Very revealing. I have not come across one serious commenter on the flap that sees it has having anything to do with the First Amendment. The inescapable conclusion is that kos must feel that NPR’s position is so indefensible that they have to act like it doesn’t even exist. Kos feels the need to create a fantasy issue and a fantasy battlefield so that they can declare victory and depart the field.

OK, So Beck Is Not the Sanest Person on the Tube, but . . .

****************************************

I watch these lefties rant on with unending insults never once supported with any evidence. But nothing they say gives any indication that they have ever even watched Beck's show. It seems that Markos from Kos ranted about Beck, some guy named George in Queens read it and became incensed, when George gave Sally from LI her dry cleaning he repeated what he could remember and Sally became worried about the fate of Obama's legislative program which she shared with the woman in the middle of the screen when they met for lunch and shared their weeks. The lady from the screen is, I guess, a comedy writer and she said to herself, "I could probably turn this into a good three or four minutes." And here we end up with three ill informed people perseverating about something they don't know anything about.

Markos: "A Clear Road Map of Where He Wants to Go This Year"

Could Markos really believe this crap? Obama failed because Republicans failed to vote the line set by the Democrat caucus? That makes as much sense as America failed because the president and Markos did not follow the dictates of the Republicans. If any congressman voting against Markos' conscience is cause for alarm and endless lectures, then why even have a congress? Let the dK central committee run the country. I think post-Constitutional should be added to post-racial and post-partisan.

dKos Leads Us Up the Tower of Babel

7--Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

8--So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

Genesis 11:7 and 8

I just read what dKos had to say about the clip of Sarah Palin below. One statement made by the kossack who wrote it was: “Sarah Palin says that America must seek rededicate itself to God and "seek his will" to solve "the great challenges" we face today.” In other words he might have listened to the audio clip but he did not understand what SP said. It does not seem that it would be difficult to understand. She didn’t use many big words. I guess this is just an example of how hate and intolerance can warp the mind. SP did not say anybody must do anything. She said if our leaders approached our problems with the humble attitude she describes then our country will be “safer and more prosperous.” The kossack attributed to SP nearly the opposite in meaning to what her words actually carry. Maybe if the kossack could release the hate he could regain his ability to understand plain, simple English.
The kossack also wrote, ” To Sarah Palin, freedom means the freedom to ignore the First Amendment, the freedom to unite church and state, and the freedom to impose her religious fanaticism throughout America and the world.” More lies. SP nowhere speaks of any church. She does not even mention any specific religion. And she nowhere says anyone must do anything. She merely says that if we act from a certain attitude certain results will follow. I am lead to believe that the intense misshaping of SP’s meaning must result either from a white heat of rabid hate or just cold, damn-the-consequences calculation.
It is possible that the Kossack understood SP all along but feels no guilt or shame in lying about SP. Maybe he is willing to brazenly lie to further some ‘great cause.’ Either way he is behaving in an antisocial and uncivilized manner. A civil society will inevitably deteriorate towards anarchy with too many such dishonest agents. I am reminded of the Tower of Babel from the Old Testament.

From my own experience I know that Sarah Palin is right. When I was in my late twenties life was closing in on me and I was deeply convinced I would not live to see my thirtieth birthday. It was suggested to me that I develop a spiritual way of life to end the increasing insanity and decreasing freedom in my life. I was an atheist but I saw no other outs. So I began to bring prayer and meditation and spiritual principles into my life. That was 34 years ago and I have experienced more freedom and happiness since than I ever had before. Contrary to what went before I began to develop my intuitive side. A faith that answers would be provided brought me more and better answers than my former unspiritual self ever found. And resources and supply of material things have flowed into my life. Any reader of my blog or my comments on other sites might detect an unspiritual angry and sarcastic edge. God willing that will continue to be refined out of me. But the point is that a change of attitude profoundly changed my life.

Eric Holder

The guy brokered the sell of a pardon that made hundreds of thousands for Bill Clinton. Now Obama wants him in his cabinet. And then he wants me to believe that he was surprised by pay to play politics in Chicago? No, it looks to me like he wants to raise it to cabinet level. dKos who talks like they are morally superior to almost everyone has no problem with Holder selling pardons. dKos underplays it by calling it, "a moment of insider baseball." My government for sell, their blind moral relativity and rationalization.

kos krazies still krazy

I found this on the lunatic fringe today (and I try to avoid posting links into nutcake land).

“the overwhelming sense of revolutionary love that we have been getting ever since Barack and Michelle Obama first burst into the public spotlight together during the Democratic primaries. . . . .
We could not agree more, and it is one of the main reasons we put everything we had into getting these superheroes into the White House. Sure, they are just people like you and me, but they will be role models for an entire planet... and beyond. . . . .
It is, perhaps, the most exciting part of the Legacy Content being created by our new President-Elect. Love returns to the highest office in the world, and its healing power washes over every human being. If the aliens are watching, they will surely see a change in the energy field. Which leads me to a question.
Which comic book characters have the healthiest relationships, and what superheroes do Barack and Michelle Obama most closely embody with their love?”

Obama on Meet the Press

I saw Barack Obama on Meet the Press yesterday. I’d seen a lot of comments on Daily Kos saying that it wasn’t fair or right that Obama should be subjected to such tough questioning while no other candidate is ever given tough questions. All of this made me curious so I watched and didn’t see what I was lead to expect.
Tim Russert makes Captain Kangaroo look like a tough questioner. I’d say the man is in the tank for Obama. He asked a few questions about Rev. Wright and it looked that he might close in for some really tough questions but let the whole matter drop when Obama intimated that it was a distraction. Russert seemed afraid to ask the questions that will let America really get to know Obama and his character. Once he had established some of Wright’s more disturbing views and Obama’s awareness of them, Russert did not follow up to find out why Obama would spend twenty years as a regular attendee where such virulent ideas were a commonplace. He did not find out why Obama would give tens of thousands of his own dollars to support such a program if it really was so abhorrent to him. Why would Obama allow his children in their most impressionable years to be subjected to such hate and detachment from reality? And, if you didn’t know what was being said at your church for twenty years, how many years will it take you to figure out what people are saying while you’re in the oval office? Russert declined to ask these questions that would get to the heart of letting us really get to know Obama. They must have edited out the part where Russert fluffed the candidate’s pillows.
This all gets to the heart of what is so suspect about Obama’s campaign. The campaign seems designed to hide who the man is and what he believes. With the exception of the ABC debate, he has never been asked difficult or very revealing questions. Any time there is a line of questions that makes Obama uncomfortable he dismisses it as a distraction. I think distraction is Obama talk for, “I don’t like those questions.” If he can’t handle polite questions from George Stephanopolis and Charlie Gibson why would we imagine he is capable of dealing with real difficulties while president?
It has often been said that the primary system is valuable since it gives the voters a chance to observe how the candidate handles boredom, frustration, difficult situations and situations that they would never allow to happen if they had any control. It gives us an idea of their abilities, weaknesses and temperament. It give us, the voters a chance to get to know them. Some of the main things I know about Obama at this point are that he is not forthcoming, he doesn’t think the voters have the right to get to know who he is, he has a tendency to frequently change his account of events and if people don’t fall in line his surrogates tend to accuse them of racism without any sign of disapproval from Obama himself. He is running an unrepentant race bating organization.
Obama says the American voter doesn’t want distractions. He says they want him to talk about the real issues. So, he had an hour on Meet the Press, how did he do issue wise? He reiterated his intention to remove all American troops from Iraq as quickly as possible. That was as definite as he got. The federal deficit is a big issue, but I guess Obama didn’t want to distract us by talking about it. Medicare and Social Security don’t seem to be of any interest to him. I couldn’t tell from his grappling with issues whether or not he takes global warming seriously or if he might have some strategy for dealing with it. He became a little more concise when he talked about our problem with high gas prices. He wants to spend many billions of dollars on research that he acted convinced would solve the problem thru efficiency and alternative fuel sources. It is sad that he actually believes this crap. Or, maybe, he was just trying to see how stupid his listeners are. Let me see, in 2010 we put 8 billion into research, after all of Harry Reid’s relatives, Pelosi’s husband, the corporations who pay for Ted Steven’s campaign and house, Diane Feinstein’s husband’s corporation and on and on and on . . . When these people all get their cut there will probably be fifteen or twenty dollars left for research. The point is that Obama can’t handle distractions and doesn’t know what to do with nondistractions. And he’s a race baiter. I don’t plan to vote for this guy.
Now, what about the daily kos crazies. They will savage anyone who might ask Obama a question he doesn’t want to face. They don’t seem to understand or respect the democratic process. Their go for the throat attitude looks like the ethos of gang warfare moved onto the internet. I read dk from time to time to help save me from the echo chamber effect. And it can be amusing. I got the impression that for most of them someone has proved something if they can cite a URL to back it up. They seem to believe that the lack of a url equates to lack of proof and lack of evidence. Strange to believe, I think some of them are even college graduates. Well God love’em, as long as they don’t take democracy and reason away from anyone else let them live in their parallel universe.

How Do You Talk to a Liberal?

This has happened to me at least three times in three months. I have friends and relatives that are liberals. On occassion the talk will turn to politics. They will make a typically liberal comment and if you offer evidence or an argument to the contrary, they turn semi-silent and semi-sullen and don't want to talk any more. And I'm left confused. If you have a belief but lack evidence or an argument to support it, why hold on to it? I guess that explains why I go away feeling they're angry at me. They either blame me for their lack of due diligence or they accept that it is their own fault. And it's easier to blame me than to change their belief system. This certainly helps explain why the daily kos is so lacking in reasoned argument and evidence and so full of nasty, angry and maybe even slanderous attacks. They seem not to have learned in college that ad hominem attacks are not valid arguments but rather fallacious.
