White Guilt

Even liberals make fun of white guilt. I think they need to be careful because if white guilt loses its power, Obama might not have a chance to become president.

Do you think "White guilt" is the main reason Obama has a chance? Do you think he will win?

Dear Ruby Redux
I am not an expert and I don't know the numbers or many of the fine points. I don't think white guilt is the main reason that Obama might win. I think the main reason is that he is not George Bush. Bush has not communicated his side well and he has done many things that aren't good for the country. He has built up more debt than he should have and he seems too concerned about caring for the interests of corporations.
White guilt is is much more pervasive and important that is talked about by the main stream media. I disagree with Obama on just about every stand on an issue he has taken. But sometimes when watching him my mind gets a little mushy and I entertain some weird fantasy that voting for Obama will bring the races together and will get us over all this division and separation. But it is an irrational idea without any basis in reality.
The Republicans have a real chance of winning if Obama is the Democratic nominee. Even though her is an excellent speaker and has marvelous self control, Obama is an empty suit. He has said things that make it obvious that he could never properly handle foreign policy or the military. He doesn't understand where and why he is wrong so he will continue to say stupid things. He's gotten away with it so far because the MSM will not call him on anything and he has refused to put himself in any situation where he would have to undergo sustained critical questioning. But, if the Republican nominee keeps Obama's wrong headedness and shallowness in front of the voters, I think he will lose.
I'm not going to go into all the questionable things that Obama has said here in the comments section. I've begun writing about this and plan to post it on the blog soon. So I invite you to come back and see what I have to say and share what you think and feel.
Ruby, how do you feel about Obama? Are you even interested in politics?

I agree about your initial thoughts on Obama. I am interested in politics and this election. I thought for a long while and it seems like I am correct in that, that Clinton will lose to Obama, then Huckabee will lose to McCain and then it will be Obama vs. McCain with McCain winning. Then again, this might still change and who knows? Something completely surprising will happen, like Huckabee winning.

I look forward to your political post. I'd like to read your thoughts.
