While We’re Talking Resignation Let’s Not Leave Out Dodd, Rangel, Feinstein and Some of the Other Crooks Who Could Benefit Us All By Retiring

Sarah Palin has resigned as governor of Alaska and the dinosaur media are acting as if it is some big scandal or something. But if Sarah were to heal our racial divisions Huffpo’s coverage might be along these lines: “In a blatantly racist move the slutty Sarah Palin has caused the unemployment of thousands of civil rights leaders. In what must be an attempt to draw attention away from the true maternity of Trig Sarah Palin, who is stupid enough to quote the Bible, has dramatically increased friendship and cooperation between the races. If we let her get away with this slap in the face of our trusted leaders she is bound someday to do something unethical for which somebody will find objectively acceptable evidence. She has been investigated dozens of times for unethical acts. Yet people still listen to her. Americans are so stupid. The smartest thing Michelle Obama has ever done was to develop a healthy shame for her American roots.”
As near as I can tell Sarah Palin is an honest person. So I can accept her explanation for why she is quitting. If Barack Obama or Harry Reid had given me that explanation I’d be wondering what the truth is. Since they have no history of honesty. With these con artists the default setting is to take everything they say as a lie or cover up.
I have liked Sarah Palin all along. But my initial reaction to her resignation was not positive. It caused me to wonder if it didn’t make her look less serious. And caused me to wonder if she can be trusted to go the distance when needed. But more reflection has caused me to be much, much more accepting of her decision. Her situation is unusual. In my life I have never seen the pack of rabid dogs that the dinosaur media have become descend so destructively and with such unprincipled abandon on one individual. And there has been an unending stream of frivolous and groundless ethics complaints that have cost Ms. Palin too much time and money. Maybe as a private citizen she will be better placed to deal with these attacks. Maybe she might even be able to forge tactics that will neutralize these Alinsky inspired attacks from the DNC so that public discourse can begin a return to civility.
Yes, Sarah Palin has many reasons to resign. Which got me to reflect on the many office holders who should resign for the good of the country. Starting close to home is my own senator, Diane Feinstein. She was chairperson of a subcommittee that gave a half a billion dollars in contracts to her own husband. I don’t care if that doesn’t bother the senate’s so called ethics committee. It is unethical and should be criminal. And she should resign for the good of the republic. Charlie Rangel has three or four rent controlled apartments for his own private use. I doubt that he could get away with this if he was not at the center of political power. To me that is abuse of power whether or not the local authorities and the house committee that should be over seeing ethics let him walk on this. How about Chris Dodd? He gets sweetheart deals from companies he is charged with oversight of and apparently the senate ethics committee is giving him a pass. I am sure the common good would be well served by Dodd and Rangel resigning. These three and others like them have truly questionable ethics yet continue to wield power. The media doesn’t seem particularly bothered by these gaping wounds at the heart of the body politic. No, they would rather squander resources on treating Sarah Palin like a pariah while there are real ethical problems that they are ignoring. And they endlessly assail Ms. Palin just because she rubs them the wrong way and might be threatening to office seekers they prefer. Compared to the bands of thieves and clowns in Congress Sarah Palin merits minimal coverage. Between the Congressional Record and all the legislator’s financial disclosure statements there are probably enough crimes to keep the press corps busy for years. I’m not even going to get started on Geithner and the rest of the cabinet. But instead they chase empty and baseless rumors in Alaska. One more time Sarah P. and the American public are mugged by Bizarro Journalism (a wholly owned subsidiary of the DNC with all of the protections and next to none of the benefits of authentic journalism).
The media have no respect for someone who will not lie to them. They see it as an attack on their self worth: in their twisted world, if you think they are powerful you will lie to them and manipulate them to gain control of some of their great influence. There is the old myth of the backward, heathen tribe that will be insulted if the visitor will not sleep with their wives or daughters. In this style of magical thinking, the journalist sees honesty as an insult and tantamount to a denial of value to his work. Some of this perversity in reporters is probably a defense that they naturally construct to deal with the lower class of people political reporters are so often dependent on and spend too much time with. I suspect that another cause is the unresolved guilt that accrues from sacrificing professional and personal standards for political expediency.

If You Give A Real Good Business Deal To Feinstein's Husband She Might Give You Billions Of Taxpayer Dollars

Basically the FDIC gave a sweetheart deal to Feinstein’s husband and Feinstein gave $25 billion in taxpayer dollars to the FDIC. In the spirit of Obama’s budget cuts maybe the taxpayers could just give a couple hundred million to Feinstein and her husband. Then we could cut out the multi-billion dollar bribe to the FDIC. Plainly Feinstein is going to throw taxpayer money at her husband and his friends no matter what. We just have to figure how to minimize the overall cost to the taxpayers. Here are a couple of quotes from a Washington Times story about the whole dirty deal.

“On the day the new Congress convened this year, Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced legislation to route $25 billion in taxpayer money to a government agency that had just awarded her husband's real estate firm a lucrative contract to sell foreclosed properties at compensation rates higher than the industry norms.
“Mrs. Feinstein's intervention on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was unusual: the California Democrat isn't a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs with jurisdiction over FDIC; and the agency is supposed to operate from money it raises from bank-paid insurance payments - not direct federal dollars.”
. . . . . .
“This clearly gives the appearance of a conflict of interest," said Kent Cooper, a former federal regulator who specializes in government ethics and disclosures. "To maintain the people's trust in government, it is incumbent on a legislator to take the extra steps necessary to ensure that when she introduces any legislation that it does not cause people to question her motives or the business activities of her spouse." “
. . . . . .
“The total compensation can range from 8 percent of the sales price on many residential properties to 30 percent for properties worth $25,000 or less. A smaller firm also won a slice of the work with similar terms, records show.
“Most real estate agents earn no more than 6 percent on residential, even on foreclosed properties, and CBRE doesn't have as much experience in foreclosure sales as other firms, the experts said.”

The Las Vegas odds on the corrupt Senate Ethics committee looking into this are 25 billion to 1, against.

There Once Was A Senator From California Who Lied And Disrespected her Constitutients

A few weeks ago I wrote emails to my congressman and both of my senators generally berating them for, among other things, giving themselves pay raises while they were telling me these are the worst economic times of my life. A waste of time and energy I know but sometimes I just get weird about things like this. I know no one in their offices reads mail from constituents who are not large donors. You must check a box for the subject of your email or it will not be sent. Then some computer sends you the same answer about that issue that everyone else with that box checked gets. I got no reply from John Campbell or Barbara Boxer. But I won’t vote for any of them since they won’t read legislation before voting on it. After about a month I recently got an answer from Diane Feinstein. Except for my much improved salutation I reproduce Di Fi’s reply completely and exactly here.

Dear Californian who is stupid enough to live in a bankrupt state that has senators and congressmen who don’t give an eff what you think or want, ugly moneyless moron that you are,

“Thank you for contacting me about my salary as a United States Senator. I appreciate hearing from you.
“I understand that you would like to see Members of Congress reject the automatic cost of living increase to our annual salary. Annual adjustments take effect immediately unless disapproved by Congress. They are determined by a formula called the Employment Cost Index, which considers changes reflected in private industry wages and salaries. Since 1994, Congress has refused an increase in pay six times.
“The Omnibus Appropriations Act, which was signed into law on March 11, 2009, includes a provision to eliminate the 2010 pay raise for Members of Congress. Additionally, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has offered a bill, S.542, which would repeal the provision of law that provides for automatic pay adjustments for Members of Congress. Majority Leader Reid has made a commitment to consider and vote on this bill in the near future.
“Although I have repeatedly donated my pay raises to charity, I understand the implications of repealing the automatic adjustment for those who rely on the increase to cover the costs associated with being a Member of Congress, such as dual residency in the District of Columbia and their home state.
“Please know that I understand your support for rejecting Congress' automatic pay increase and I will keep your thoughts in mind as the Senate considers this issue. Best regards.

Sincerely yours,”

Isn’t that sweet. She’s taking our money for the sake the many penniless, under paid members of congress. Is anyone else suspicious about the assertion that there are members of congress who just don’t have enough money? The only ones that would apply to would be the ones who seen their opportunities and then didn’t take them. I have yet to see any evidence that there are any such among the present pack in office.
Of course Di doesn’t need anymore federal money because, while chairperson of a subcommittee she gave contracts to her husband worth in excess of half a billion dollars. She has already overfed at the public trough. And that is a part of my email she didn’t address. I told her I feel she should resign because she is an unethical disgrace to her state and her country. Strangely no word back on that.
If I sound angry there is a simple explanation for that: I am angry, anyone aware of what’s going on would be.

Thank You Pelosi, Reid, Boxer and Feinstein For Leaving the Borders Wide Open

Because of the unwillingness of congress to protect our borders we have increasing violence and lawlessness spreading from south of the border into the US. IL recently read a story vast sums of money and drug trade related violence in Houston, Texas. Now there is this story in USAToday about massive growth of drug trade and violence in Atlanta, Georgia. Below are some quotations from that story.

Atlanta has not seen a fraction of the violence that engulfs much of northern Mexico, but law enforcement officials are increasingly concerned about the cartels' expanding operations here.
"The same folks who are rolling heads in the streets of Ciudad Juárez" — El Paso's Mexican neighbor — "are operating in Atlanta. Here, they are just better behaved," says Jack Killorin, who heads the Office of National Drug Control Policy's federal task force in Atlanta.
The same regional features that appeal to legitimate corporate operations — access to transportation systems and proximity to major U.S. cities — have lured the cartels, Atlanta U.S. Attorney David Nahmias says.

====================

Nahmias calls northeast suburban Gwinnett County, about 30 miles northeast of Atlanta, the "epicenter" of the region's drug activity.
Gwinnett's Hispanic population surged from 8,470 in 1990 to 64,137 in 2000, according to the Pew Hispanic Center. Now, 17% of the county's 776,000 people are Hispanic.
"You see Mexican drug-trafficking operations deploying representatives to hide within these communities in plain sight," Benson says. "They were attempting to blend into the same communities as those who were hard-working, law-abiding people."

-----------------------------------------------------------------

"We've got direct linkages between cartel representatives who take their orders from cartel leadership in Mexico," Benson says.
From the border, shipments of marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin are routed over land to Atlanta for storage in a network of stash houses. They are then moved to distribution operations in the Carolinas, Tennessee, the Mid-Atlantic, New York and New England.
Cash is generally moved over the same routes back to the Atlanta area, where balance sheets are reconciled. The bundles of money are turned over to transportation units for bulk shipments back to Mexico, Benson says.

Why Does Congress Have No Respect for the Law and Normal Citizens?

Most Americans feel that people should obey the law.  I feel that it only breeds disorder and anarchy to pass laws and then tell police to not enforce them.  Congress has passed some immigration laws in the past few years but they will do nothing to see that these laws are enforced.  I have frequently written to my two senators (Feinstein and Boxer) to ask for an explanation of why these laws are not enforced.  At first they would not even reply to my questions.  But more recently they have begun to send replies (nothing like an election to get a senator's attention).  But they never send answers to my question.  They just send a generic immigration answer.
This convinced me that that they don't ever read their mail from the likes of me.
Why does the congress have so little respect for the law? Because they only see laws as something they sell to the highest bidder. They don’t pass a law unless someone is going to pay them. They’re pissed that they had to defeat comprehensive immigration reform just to not lose their seats. They’re really pissed because the voters have done them out of some money that they feel they are entitled to. They see laws as their commodity. K street is their customer and they sell them laws. Their attitude toward the law is some what like the attitude of a manager in a factory that manufactures paper clips. It pays the mortgage but they could just as well make rain gutters. And he’d be pissed if some normal citizen told him he couldn’t sell paper clips to people who employ illegal aliens. I see congress and laws as flowing out of the great tradition of the Magna Carta, John Locke and Tom Paine. But congress can’t see any difference between laws and paper clips and they see me as their enemy since I might sometimes ask them to pass a law just because it is what the country needs.

Suggestions for Senators Boxer and Feinstein and that Bunch of Theives they Hang with

Suggestions for Improving Security in Congress
Fire all guards except two and if they take their job seriously, send them to jail . Promise to build yourselves a wall but build only 8 inches a year. Promise yourselves a virtual fence but don't build it. If the Mexican embassy complains about anything you do, apologize profusely and do exactly what they tell you to do. If any government, anywhere so much as accuses you of human rights violations fire a few people. Always do exactly what these governments tell you to do regardless of any effect on the life, liberty or property of any American citizen. Continue to ingore the Constitution except when it gives you advantage. Anyone who wants should be allowed access to any part of the building they want to enter. It's not right that you should ever bar anyone since they are just good family people who are hard working. And if you hassle anyone you will probably just end up separating famlies. Keeping anyone out of any part of the building would just prove that you are a racist who engages in racial profiling whenever possible. The fact that you bar anyone from any part of the building just proves that you are a bunch of nativist, racist bigots. I am only proposing any of this because it is for the good of the children and it is becoming very obvious that you hate children and are out to harm them. How can you be so unfeeling?
I would not have suggested any of this, except, if it's good enough for your constituents it's good enough for you. Don't ever say I was unwilling to share the anarchy you've created.
