Bernardine Dohrn on the ‘Real’ Terrorists

Interesting disinformation to come from a member of a terrorist organization. Also interesting since she has been a personal friend of the First Lady for over thirty years. And Obama's presidential campaign was nurtured early on in her home.

Part of the problem might be that too many Democrats are too prone to surrender under most circumstances.

Blah, blah, blah!

Talking heads can slice and dice this any way they want, and they still won't land on the truth.  BP just handed Obama $20 billion for him to dole out to ACORN and SEIU. They, in turn, can use the funds to buy all the votes he needs in the next couple of elections.
Some people are going to get very rich on this latest "Chicago Way.”

UNCOVERED AUDIO: OBAMA’S REGULATORY CZAR PUSHES CREEPY PLAN FOR LEGALLY CONTROLLING INTERNET INFORMATION

Why do these Obama regulatory thugs feel driven to control everything? I can no longer think of the Democrats as the governing party. They are an evil force that I pray America can survive.

Obama Targets Wall Street

****** ****** ******
When an accomplished and effective manipulator comes at you they will tell you how intelligent and good looking you are with honeyed flattery that they hope will turn off your critical thinking. Then they will tell you all the wonderful things they are going to do for you and paint you a lovely picture of the bountiful new world you will soon live in thanks to them. Well in a radio address Obama would look dumb telling me how attractive and intelligent I am but he really lays it on with the rosy picture of all the wonderful things he’s going to do for me. Do I even deserve a president who cares so much about my every little need?
The problem is that now I have some real history with which to judge whether or not he’s telling me the truth. He talked for ever about how I needed him to pass a health care reform bill so that the growing costs of health care do not crush our economy. As near as I can tell his health care ‘fix’ is going to end up being more expensive than the cost of doing nothing. They cobbled together a gigantic mess that few if any congressmen even read before voting on. I doubt that Obama himself read all of the final bill. But it creates many new federal bureaus and employees and requires 16,500 more IRS agents to collect the new revenue from many different tax sources. And millions more will be forced to buy health insurance. And, to escape large federally imposed penalties, they will not even be allowed much freedom of choice: the federal bureaus and panels and IRS agents will tell you what coverage you must have. Do I even deserve a president who cares so much about my every little need?
So he repeatedly promised to lower health care costs but then raised them as soon as he got a chance to put his stamp on the process. Now, why should I expect that any promise he makes is anything but manipulation? It is becoming obvious that he wants to pass a big new package of laws constraining Wall Street. But his past behavior tells me that the rosy promises he is making me of a bountiful future is probably just an attempt to manipulate me into dropping my critical thinking on the issue. It has been suggested that Wall Street has just been chosen as a convenient demon. It is easy to get people riled up against them and a big, loud push can take the national attention off what an utter failure the final form of the health care bill is. I have to also wonder if it is not also a Chicago style campaign finance push: letting Wall Street know that if they do not let go of many, many large chunks of money that he will choke them to death legislatively and with regulations. What did I do to deserve a president who puts his own interests so consistently ahead of mine?

********************************
UPDATE
********************************

Now, after the health care bill has been passed, the NYT has begun reporting honestly about how much more expensive this law will be than what the president promised 4,863 times. Yet another case of 'Only the News That Fits.'

"Other Forms of Communication Work Better for Him": I've Never Seen Kickbacks and Bribes Called 'Communication' Before

I've never seen offering a job to a candidate to open up an election for one of your friends called 'a form of communication' before. This must be what is referred to since he's not convincing anyone by any other means that I can see. No matter what he says or does his approval has kept sliding. And his policies are getting more and more unpopular with the voters. But he is a master at throwing around government resources and favors the Chicago way and getting doubters to vote with him in the Congress and the Senate. Truly, we have a brave new world in Washington and in the MSM.

Oedipus, Obama and Denial, Denial and More Denial

I recently reread ‘Oedipus the King.’ I needed the review to write something about the TV series Mad Men. The story of Oedipus is dramatic and full of insight into human nature. No big surprise that Sigmund Freud gave it top billing in his description of the workings of the human personality,
This odious semi-monster, the Sphinx has the city of Thebes blockaded and closed up. Oedipus shows up and with some clever thinking defeats the monster by solving a riddle. The people hail him and make him king. They marry him to the old, lost king’s wife. So Oedipus settles down to a happy marriage in a great new job.
All of this is wonderful until the people of the city begin dying from a plague. Oedipus is told that the plague is caused by there never having been any punishment for the murder of the old king. He’s also told that the murderer remains in the city and the deaths from the plague will not end until the man is found and punished.
So now Oedipus is pretty much drawn into the whole hero gig. He’s full of himself and convinced of his ability to make a difference. He starts smart talking the little folk and he acts like there is no way he can fail at this. Circumstances and his ego keep drawing him slowly, deeper and deeper into the search for the killer. Will find the killer? At this point, Barack Obama is somewhat like this guy. Barack defeated Hillary, McCain and Palin without breaking a sweat mainly by piercing the riddle of how to manipulate the caucus process. Plus, he inextricably seems to be the favorite of the party old guard. Maybe they just figure he is better than Hillary. Or maybe they think they can manipulate him more easily than they can Hill. And I think they’re right about that. But what a perfect example of: be careful what you wish for..
There follows much investigation into the old king and all of the circumstances surrounding his death. The further he goes the more committed Oedipus becomes to the whole quest. Solving this question becomes Oedipus’ whole life. We detect no fear in him. He seems to have not an inkling that the final answer will discomfort him in any way.
I’m beginning to notice more and more divergence from the story of Barack Obama. Once inaugurated into the presidency he talks big about lowering unemployment and bailing out those too big to fail. The plain English for ‘too big to fail’ is ‘gave money to whoever gave us money and will give to the reelection.’ Decreasing unemployment seems to be unimportant for anyone but Barack’s friends the government employees and union members. Apparently everyone else can go to hell and at a rapid rate. Not heroic!
For the first reader totally unfamiliar with the story, the dénouement is just as much a massive surprise to them as it was to Oedipus. Because, as everyone else knows, the new reader and Oedipus are in for a really, really big surprise. As he is looking for the murderer, some revelations also begin coming out about Oedipus’ genesis and youth. And this is a finely woven plot so nothing goes to waste.
It all gets down to at the inescapable fact that Oedipus was the killer. We also discover that, by a strange chain of accidents, that the old king, Laius is actually Oedipus’ father. And also Oedipus’ present wife, Jocasta is actually his mother. All of these revelations coming at once are more than a little upsetting to Oedipus. To see how all or this is finely worked out by the playwright you need to read the whole play (the judgement of the ages is that it is well worth the time and effort). Oedipus goes a little crazy and ends up gouging his eyes out. No fear of Obama seeing too much. I think the main fear is that he might not pay attention at all. Meanwhile, the plague of recession and unemployment stalks the land. I suppose if Barack and friends eat enough Kobe beef, I mean a lot of Kobe beef, the Japanese cowboys will become so rich that they might come to America on vacation and create an hotel maid job or two. But maybe Barack and Michelle will go all soft and sweet again and have another date night in New York. That won’t put any new actors to work or make a whole new cook or waiter necessary but it might mean a few bucks for the local economy. They do pay for their theatre tickets and dinner, don’t they? Well if a few dozen cops get some extra overtime that might get spent on the locals.
There is no lack of denial in this story. Obama’s inner circle is in denial that he is anything but very holy. But that is a cautionary tale. Obama has surrogates all over the place and they are spreading the denial thick and deep. The two favorite denial systems seem to be ‘It’s all Bush’s fault’ and ‘All of our critics are racists.” Yes they lay out this crap with straight faces and act like this BS belongs in a rational discussion between adults. Well, denial is whatever gets you through the night. And this worthless crap really seems to speak loudly to many a Democrats’ inner Keynes.
Obama does have some answers. Regrettably they are not to questions anyone has asked. His answers are to the straw men. And those answers might try to make him look wise and rational but they don’t do any of us any good. So plainly Obama is not the hero that is going to save us from the plague. Maybe he only thinks about the plague once or twice a week, anyway. The fine silver service and the crystal in the White House might be all the denial system the Great One needs to live and think like there is actually no plague ravaging his newly acquired kingdom Maybe we’re going to have to go to a local Tea Party and become our own heroes.

On my other blog The Chinese Jar I have posted a totally unpolitical version of this. I recommend it for those who want a little intro to the Freud's take on the myth as well

I Have A 12 Point Plan for the Drunken Senator

To the tables down at Mory's
To the place where Louie dwells
To the dear old Temple bar we love so well

*******************************************
We're poor little lambs who have lost our way
Baa, baa, baa
We're little black sheep who have gone astray
Baa, baa, baa
Gentleman rankers off on a spree
Doomed from here to eternity
Lord have mercy on such as we
Baa, baa, baa

When I saw Max Baucus’ drunken rant from the Senate chamber I was reminded of what a fool my friend Mory made of himself when he gave a drunken toast at his third daughter’s wedding. Mory was as incoherent, slurring and repetitive as Baucus was. But at least he didn’t call every Republican in the room a coward. But Mory wasn’t brought up in a barn.
Mory has changed greatly in the past few years. His wife and daughter now speak to him. So I got in touch with him to see if there is anything that can be done to help Max Baucus. “Well I have a 12 point plan for the Senator,” Mory told me. “We are at a real disadvantage trying to help him because he is convinced everything is wonderful. He has an endless budget with which to hire scores of people to tell him how great he is and how lucky the country is to have him serving in the Senate. All while Senator Genius’ liver is turning into a useless cirrhotic rock. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t someone in that crowd reminding him that he will be automatically put at the front of the transplant list while the surgeon general goes on Face the Nation and swears that no special favor was granted.” Mory laughed and said, “Even here in Dubuque we’re figuring out the Obama Way.”
“What are the 12 points of the plan?” I asked.
Mory laughed, “That’s AA’s 12 steps. And that’s the rub. We can’t help him until he realizes he needs help. And that day might never come. I bet right this minute Baucus has himself convinced that the whole thing is George Bush’s fault. It’s the Obama Way. And maybe he’s even trying to figure out some way to get CSPAN tossed from the Senate. And if Harry Reid puts a few hundred million dollars in just the right places they might get enough votes to pull that off. I bet Barack ‘Transparency’ Obama has just been looking for chance like this to cover more up.”
“Mory,” I said, “you seem pretty knowledgeable about what’s going on in Washington. Seems to me in the old days you weren’t interested in politics.”
“I never was interested,” replied Mory. “But then my sainted grandma became convinced that ACORN was going to be given the power to kill her whenever they want. I knew she had things mixed up. I started reading and watching so I’d know enough to help quiet her fears. Turns out she wasn’t that far off. I figure ACORN won’t step in until the second wave of the elder genocide.”
I had to laugh. “Mory, I’m very conservative and very cynical but I don’t see that there is any reason to suspect that ACORN will be killing seniors.”
“Well my grandfather, Mory Liebowitz said the same thing about Brown Shirts and Jews. Poor guy ended up with a tattoo on his arm before they turned him to ashes. I say you always go with the smart money. And a quick look at the past year will tell you that the winning money has never been on Obama being competent or honest or acting from principle. It might not be fun to look at but if you won’t look you’re in as much denial as that drunken Senator.”
“It’s too bad the Senator might not get any help,” I said.
“People can help him come to realize he needs help,” Mory said. “If all the people of Montana would vote against him he might realize that his sycophants and Obama have been lying to him. He might even realize he needs to make drastic changes. And, also, then my grandma and I won’t have to worry as much about ACORN.”

******************************************************
******************************************************

Senator Baucus has informed the world that he was not drunk. Hell, someone somewhere might even believe him.
If he ever gets a handle on his problem, and someone asks Max how he first realized he had a problem he might say, "When Rick Sanchez assures the world you were sober at a certain time and place and everyone at MSNBC and HuffPo does not get on the bandwagon you can be sure something untoward is going on."

Alan Grayson Flunked Democracy 101

***************************************************************

Alan Grayson flunked Democracy 101. The man is offensive to the American spirit. There is a scene in this YouTube video in which he physically attacks a man for filming him while he walks down a public street. This sums him up: he has no respect for the law and he has no respect for other people. He feels he can do as he pleases and to Hell with the rights of others. And he is loved by the base of the Democrat party: go figure.
I saw this rube as a minor irritant at the far edge of my world until he demanded that the Department of Justice jail a citizen who criticized him on the internet. That was too much for me. I recognize that he thrives on negative attention. But his special kind of sliminess is best combated with massive amounts of sunlight.
He was one of the congressman who balked at listening to input from his constituents at a town hall meeting. He packed the hall so that very few critical voices were allowed in. The same YouTube video documents this anti-democratic stunt by this congressman who apparently is really nuts.
Grayson has no respect for others, feels no obligation to listen to the legitimate concerns of the people he claims to represent, is very willing to physically bully a critic, is not even embarrassed to publically attack freedom of expression. He has flunked Democracy 101 and is not fit to serve in congress.
There is a growth in this anti-democratic spirit in Washington, D. C. Obama has made working around congressional oversight into an art form by taking the rarely used czar position and creating a near endless number of them living and working outside the normal chains of responsibility and oversight that are the life blood of representative government. He has also flunked Democracy 101. As if his flourishing under the Chicago Way were not proof enough.
The Congress has descended into a strange authoritarian underworld by moving the creation of legislation behind closed doors. For years they have been allowing lobbyists and special interests to do the actual writing of the legislation. But to go the extra step of not allowing all members to see the legislation long enough before a vote to make informed choices is proof of their anti-democratic leanings. And hiding the process from the public is unforgiveable. We will be better off if none of this crew of back stabbers ever returns to Washington.
The buying and selling of votes in the Senate cannot be very new but the present lot have lost all shame and do it right out in public. It is as if they they have a deep commitment to causing nausea and widespread distrust in government. Do they think that Americans will find the whole thing so repellant that they will just return to ignoring the government and leave it to the slimebags? I think they might be surprised at what all of this will lead to. The whole Senate has been unwilling to follow its constitutionally mandated duty to properly police itself. They might get a few points for chutzpah but the whole Senate gets a failing grade in Democracy 101. Maybe the whole bunch of them could work for Hugo Chavez or the Iranian secret service since they have the requisite mind set. They sure do not have the attitudes and habits required for democratic government.
