'Stimulus' = New Patronage Job System

Boudica BPI Weblog has a post with some links about the stimulus bill. There is a moderate Democrat who says he was at a meeting soon after the election at which a plan to lard a stimulus bill with large sums creating a new patronage system was discussed. So maybe the thing was planned and ready. it all happened under very strange circumstances. Congresspeople were not allowed to be a part of the drafting of the bill. It was all done in Pelosi's office and then just thrown out there to be quickly voted on. We still don't know if even one congressperson or senator has read the bill. The whole thing stinks. And the bill itself, as people become more aware of its provisions, will be impossible for the Democrat congress to explain. This all has the unsavory stench of Chicago politics.
